New to therapy or ready for a fresh start? Finding the right fit can make all the difference.
You might be asking yourself: “Should I/we do therapy?”
Or perhaps you’ve done therapy in the past and are now looking for something different, or for the right person you trust and connect with.
I’m a Byron Bay-based psychotherapist and counsellor providing individual and couples therapy.
Individual Therapy
At the heart of my work is the belief that everyone has the capacity to live a meaningful and fulfilling life with the right support.
As a psychotherapist in Byron Bay and online, I support individuals navigating anxiety, depression, relationship issues, life transitions, neurodiversity and other mental health or personal growth challenges. I focus on providing a space that builds confidence, brings clarity and supports overall wellbeing. You’ll leave with practical tools to help you stay centred and move forward with your life.

In our sessions, the relationship becomes the client - meaning each partner is equally seen, heard and valued. What I specialise in
Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck or disconnected from yourself, therapy can help you understand what’s happening beneath the surface and build the tools to create meaningful change.
I specialise in the following areas:
-
Helping you to discover calm and clarity through a holistic approach that combines increased self-awareness of the sources of anxiety/stress, practical strategies for managing everyday triggers and mindfulness / somatic practices to regulate the nervous system.
-
Helping you to discover greater lightness and enjoyment in life through increased self-awareness to understand underlying patterns, effective strategies to shift negative thinking and lack of motivation, and holistic practices to restore joy and wellbeing.
-
Supporting you to build more fulfilling relationships by increasing understanding of the underlying patterns, attachment styles and relational dynamics, and providing practical tools to navigate relationships with greater confidence, joy and connection.
-
Supporting you to discover peace and confidence through identifying and shifting underlying beliefs, emotions and behaviours, and providing practical strategies that strengthen self-belief and confidence.
-
Supporting you to break free from addictions or behaviours that are not serving you by identifying underlying triggers and emotions, developing practical coping strategies and creating sustainable behaviour change for healthier life.
-
Helping you to find stability and confidence, whether facing health challenges, grief or personal change. With an evidence-based approach, I’ll help you understand and shift your emotional responses, develop coping strategies and move forward with clarity and self-compassion.
Techniques I use
You don’t need to be an expert in which modality is best for you. Instead, I will create a tailored and integrated approach drawing from the most effective therapy methods for you. I am a registered Psychotherapist and Counsellor in Byron Bay trained in various evidence-based therapeutic modalities with a neuro-affirming approach, including:
-
Schema therapy helps you understand the deep patterns and beliefs that shape your thoughts, feelings and behaviours, so you can break unhelpful cycles and create a more fulfilling, balanced life.
-
DBT helps you manage emotions, shift unhelpful behaviours and develop practical skills to improve relationships, enhance emotional balance and help manage stress, anxiety, depression and ADHD.
-
ACT empowers you to respond differently to challenging thoughts and emotions and take action guided by your personal values.
-
CBT empowers you to break unhelpful patterns and build emotional resilience through reframing negative thoughts, shifting beliefs through behavioural experiments and developing coping skills for challenging situations.
-
Through mindfulness you learn to observe your inner experience with more clarity and acceptance, while somatic practices help you tune into your body, release tension and regulate your nervous system - together supporting greater calm and emotional balance.
-
The Gottman Method empowers you and your partner to strengthen your relationship by understanding the patterns that lead to conflict or disconnection. You’ll learn how to communicate more effectively, repair and rebuild the foundations of trust, friendship and emotional intimacy.
I believe therapy is one of the bravest things you can do.
Let me tell you a bit more about what to expect.
It is completely normal to be nervous before speaking to a therapist. Many people do not quite know what to expect and feel some apprehension about beginning the process. Some people have had negative experiences with therapists in the past, some are concerned about opening up to a stranger and some question whether therapy will actually help.
1. Reaching Out
During our first contact, we’ll have a relaxed chat (or email exchange) about what you’re seeking support with. It’s also a chance to get to know each other, ask questions and decide whether you’d like to book your first session. Just be yourself - we’ll take it from there.
2. First Session
You’ll complete a short intake form so I can get to know your background and what you’d like to work on. If relevant, we might use a simple assessment to add more insight. We’ll set goals and discuss the approach that fits you best, creating a safe space where real change can begin.
3. Regular Sessions
Sessions can be held in person in Byron Bay Industrial or online. Most clients start with weekly or fortnightly appointments, with the option to space them out over time. You’ll receive optional between-session practices to help integrate tools and learnings.
4. Wrap-Up
As therapy comes to an end, we’ll reflect on your progress, expand on what you’ve learned and plan practical ways to maintain positive change. You’ll leave with a personal toolbox of strategies to help you feel confident, empowered and ready to continue your growth independently.

If you decide you’re ready to end therapy for any reason, you can also do that anytime.
